The District lies between 26 deg 30 - 26 deg 49 North West Latitude and 76 deg 35 and 77 deg 26 East Longitude and 260 mtrs altitude. It is bounded on west by Dausa, South west by Sawaimadhopur, north east by Dholpur and west north by Bharatpur, Karauli district is at the height of 400 - 600 meters from sea level. The total geographical area of district is 5043 Sq. kms and population is 14,58,248 as per census of 2011. The main river of state Chambal separates it from M.P.. Maximum temperature is 49° C in the month of May and 2° C in the month of January.
Karauli District is a part of Dang area of Rajasthan and it comes under Agro-climatic Zone III B i.e. Flood Prone Eastern Plain Zone. Total geographical area of the District is 504301 ha and out of which 202933 ha is cultivated. Pearl millet, Sesame, Cluster bean, Paddy, Ground nut, Sorghum, Mustard, Wheat, Gram and Barley are the major crop of this area. Vegetable crop like Tomato, Chilli, Coriander are also grown and Mango and Citrus orchards are established here. In animals, Cow, buffalo and Goat are the major source of Farmer’s income. The average rainfall of District is 760 mm.
In Karauli there are strong possibilities for Horticulture and Medicinal plantation. In Dang area Amla, Mango, Lemon medicinal crops and milk production from animal husbandry, apart from this along with traditional farming new experiments can be done with help of scientific technology in areas of Hindaun, Tadobheem, Nadouti and Sapotara. District has medium land holding due to this working in a private and cooperative manner there are high possibilities for processing industry. Nadauti area of district which is said as ‘Maal’ in local language has an unbound possibilities for production of Dalahan and Tihani crops. Due the water harvesting efforts made in areas of ‘Farm Pond’ this subdivision has came up as a model in field of water harvesting.

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra celebrate and conduct awareness programme on International Yoga day (21st June), World food day (16th October), World soil day celebration (5th December) during each year. Also conduct two preseasonal training programme, SAC meeting and other awareness programme for farmers, Farm women and Rural youth during every year.
