Infrastructure
KVK has one tractor with attachment, one Mahindra Bolero jeep and one motorcycle for transportation and farm services. The Kendra also having seed go down, threshing floor, soil and water testing laboratory, vermin-compost and Azolla unit, plant diagnostic clinic, water harvesring structure and two farmers hostel with the capacity of 80 farmers,2 training hall and 6 staff quarters.
Training/Capacity building activities
On Campus Trainings
The one of the most important mandate of Krishi Vigyan Kendra is to organize institutional training courses for farmers, farm women and rural youth, so as to overcome their lack of knowledge on recent technical knowhow for enhancing productivity and encouraging the adoption of new technologies of farming. A total of 07 trainings for farmers and farm women conducted and benefited 166 farmers.
Off Campus Trainings
For benefiting the farmers theit door step by providing latest technical knowhow the scientists of this KVK has conducted 10 off campus training courses and benefited229 farmers, farm women and rural youth.
Sponsored Trainings
The centre has conducted 26 training programmes and 650 farm women benefitted. These training programme were sponsored by Directorate of Extension Education,SKRAU, Bikanare under RKVY project on Value addition in Bajra.
Farm Advisory Services
Under this front line demonstrations/other demonstrations were organized to enhance the productivity of crops and animals by demonstrating latest technologies at farmers field.
Front line Demonstrations
The ICAR has sponsored a special scheme of front line demonstration to boost up the oilseed and pulses production in the country under these demonstrations all the newly unfolded technologies are carried out under under the supervision of scientists and technicians of KVK by supplying the critical input. This year 100 demonstrations on kharif crops (Seasme and green gram) were conducted.
To enhance the milk production and general health of dairy animals 20 Azolla demonstration unit were established at farmers field.
Extension Activities
In order to create awareness about improved agricultural technologies, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra has organized 66 extension activities of varios types through which 4685 farmers and extension workers were benefited. The major extension activities included were fielday, Farmer’s scientists interaction, Kissan Mela,Kissan ghosti,Animal health camp,PPV & FRA awareness camp,Exhibition etc.
